We're putting out a preliminary call for swimmer/chaperone attendees for the Long Course Regional meet to get an estimated number.
This event is held at Brock University in St.Catherines from Thursday, June 5th through Sunday, June 8th. Thee preliminary schedule is below. We've been asked to have an estimated number into the meet committee no later than January 7th.
This is a TEAM OVERNIGHT EVENT for the entire weekend. The swimmers and chaperons stay together on campus; there is 1 chaperon and 4 swimmers in each unit. Parents are welcome to stay in the Brock U area and attend the swim meet as a spectator. If you want to stay on campus with the swimmers, you must commit to being a chaperon.
We don't have the per-person cost associated with the meet for this year, however, last year it was just under $400 for the weekend. They are upgrading the menu, so it will likely be around the $500 this year in total - this includes accomodation, all meals, swim meet fees and any other included activities.
We will not not commute as a team, so parents are responsible for the drop-off and pick-up of their swimmer or arranging a car-pool with another attendee.
We may also be looking for an additional chaperon or two, depending on swimmer interest in the event. If you are interested, please email us directly as soon as possible. You MUST be able to obtain and submit back a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to the event. The club can provide a letter so this can be obtained at no cost.
There are no qualification standards associated with this meet, however, individual attendance is at the discretion of the Lindsay Lightningolts Board and coaching team.
This was an AMAZING event and experience for our swimmers last year and we're excitedly anticipating the same this year!!
This is just a preliminary call out to gain numbers if you anticipate that you're interested in having your swimmer attend. There are no fees being charged out at this time. An official event declaration will be sent out once we have a meet package available.
