This is the official registration for swimmers to attend the Long Course Regionals meet at Brock University in St.Catherines from Thursday, June 5th through Sunday, June 8th.
Declaration is open now and will close on March 16th.
This is a 3 night ,TEAM OVERNIGHT EVENT. The swimmers and chaperons stay together on campus in a group of town-homes; there is 1 chaperon and 4 swimmers in each unit. Parents are welcome to stay in the Brock U area and attend the swim meet as a spectator. If you want to stay on campus with the swimmers, you must commit to being a chaperon.
We don't have the full per-swimmer cost associated with the meet , however, last year it was just under $400 for the weekend. They are upgrading the menu, so it's been estimated that it will be in the range of $500 - this includes accomodation, all meals, swim meet fees and any other included activities. We're working on a fundraising activity to hopefully help offset some of these costs, so watch out for more information about this soon!
We will not not commute as a team, so parents are responsible for the drop-off and pick-up of their swimmer or arranging a car-pool with another attendee.
We may also be looking for an additional chaperon, depending on swimmer interest in the event. There is no cost to chaperons for this event, accomodation and meals are included. If you are interested, please email us directly as soon as possible. You MUST have a current, or be able to obtain, a Vulnerable Sector Check prior to the event. The club can provide a letter so a VSC can be obtained at no cost.
There are no qualification standards associated with this meet, however, individual attendance is at the discretion of the Lindsay Lightningolts Board and coaching team.
This was an AMAZING event and experience for our swimmers last year and we're excitedly anticipating the same this year!!
